Section Timing in addition to individual times
David Hill
I really need the ability to have section times in addition to item times.
For example Speaker X is a section. This section is 60 minutes
He has gfx that don't have timing as he has control. This would be under the 60 minutes.
He also has 4 video rolls that are various times, and need to be counted out so that they can be restored from properly. These times currently will override the 60 minutes.
The only way to make this work is to make up times before, after and between the videos, but this still is not accurate.
A section time would be another timer at the top that would hold a total for the segment, and the existing timers would run in the item timer.

I have been messing around with this and I don't think it is giving me what I want. If there is a starting amount in the preset, it gets messed up by the video rolls. I can't assign a time to the rest of the speech.
If I set the preset for 60 minutes I can't set the duration for an amount because the only amount I know is the total time they have to speak.
If they don't have elements, this is fine.
If they have something like video rolls, or table discussions or anything like that that I can assign a time to (and need to,) then it messes up the countdown because I can't know how much is remaining after those sections are done, and probably don't know how much had elapsed before that.

Hey David Hill.
if i am understanding you correctly (please correct me if im wrong here) the best way to accomplish this would be to use the 'preset time' column. Use this column to for the overall section timing and the duration for each sub cue item. (see image)
the trick is to add a row at the bottom of each section and title it something like over/under this will tell you how your total timing adds up (over / under)
